Duality

The mysteries of your wise words

Are no longer sharp enough to kill my dreams in sleep,

I know you are just twisting words to suit your theories,

I see you, I finally see you now,

You in a light, revealing all,

Your two faced judgments are falling apart

Like a coin tossed, stopping mid-air, half in half out

***

The mysteries of your wise words

Are no longer sharp enough to kill my dreams in sleep,

I know you are just twisting words to suit your theories,

Making prejudiced sound wise; dear, they are shallow not deep

***

I gave you my heart, and you tore it apart

I fixed it together, I showed you my scars,

But here you are, trying to remove stitches in the dark,

With soothing voice and lullabies, numbing my heart

***

I can’t see you like this,

and yet this is how you remain,

I can’t unsee what I saw,

I can’t trust you again

***

Slowly I will distance myself,

Without realizing, I would have flown away,

My absence will remind you of what you did to me,

Killing me softly, my wet pillows won’t dry up under any heat.

Somehow, when you are in a mood to question everything and everyone, you start seeing everything in a new light…
