A Spark

A touch of black makes white turn grey,
And just like that, I wasn’t the same

Your words had hit me like a slap on my face,
I had tried to forget, but they never went away,
A touch of black makes white turn grey,
And just like that, I wasn’t the same
With my past now tainted and the future rustic,
Dreams were a nightmare, memories were dusty,
Yet a gentle reminder like a touch of a feather,
A song once forgotten, whispered in my ears,
As a sudden dim light enough to see in the dark,
A spark grew inside, my one last shot,
Before my eyes give in to the dark,

I need to find my way to the stars
