Fairy Lights

Oh! the way they fill the room with mysterious air

The way they make me more hopeful again

I bought new pair of fairy lights

Decorated my small room for added style

Pink and blue they shined dim and bright

Sipping coffee comfortably, observing patterns at night

***

Oh! the way they fill the room with mysterious air

The way they make me more hopeful again

And not to forget how they bring back happy memories

Not failing to whisper charmingly sweet promises

***

I take it all in, as new year begins,

Filled with new hope, I slowly cut days in January

Half a month gone, I wonder if their magic is real

Or did I just imagine it to make it seem more dear?

***

But something is up with them for sure

For even with doubts, I want to look at them some more

Every morning I wake up with smile

I think they even come in my dreams at night

***

I go back to childhood as I turn them on

Little girl believing in Santa Claus

Even though I know the truth about magic and spells

My hope for my letter from Hogwarts is just the same

  1. Reminds me of my third year room! And as you said, something’s surely up with these lights! They do add a bit of magic to the otherwise bland surroundings 🙂
