Beneath the Starless Night Sky

I wish for a shooting star,
To take me away, on its fast car,
Far from all the worries and the scars.

Beneath the starless night sky,
I lie wondering,
Hoping to reach high,
Dreaming of a better me.

Underneath the dark sky,
I imagine my tomorrow,
With no hope, just sorrow,
Thinking why the better days fly.
Above the cold ground,
I wish for a shooting star,
To take me away, on its fast car,
Far from all the worries and the scars.
Beside the hard concrete,
I wonder what’s it gonna be,
Believer or an achiever,
Wishing for a story written just for me.

Along with the rains that fall,
I roam around confused and lost,
Hoping to be carried away
to a better place, by the clouds.

Towards the harsh reality,
I get up and walk away
from this dreamy poetry,
Washing my wishful eyes
Dreaming of a starry sky.

I wrote this poem remembering home and how bright the night looked with stars to gaze at all night long.
