I guess it is in the air

No clue why I feel unsure,
I guess it’s in the air

For reasons unknown,
sad, depressed I roam,
No clue why I feel unsure,
I guess it’s in the air

Confused now of new things,
Tried to do them justice,
But failure touched my foothills,
I guess it is in the air

I thought it was done,
I was the first and the only one,
But second is all that I have been,
It must be in the air

Days start and come to an end,
I think of past and present ends,
Future seems foggy, twisted and bent,
I guess it is in the air

My mind asks me questions after another
disaster, and expects an honest answer,
But all I see, is just another cover up,
I guess it is in the air

No one knows the meaning of it all,
Everyone runs, without seeing the path,
No matter where it leads, we all are caught up now,
It must be in the air.

This poem shows in a glance how your surroundings can affect your thoughts. ‘In the air’ concept came to my mind, when I opened my heart to truly listen to people around me. Undergoing to an extent, the same set of experiences  and difficulties, many of our thoughts connect, even when we are unique individuals.

  1. The poem reminded me of ‘blowing in the wind ‘ by Bob Dylan. Though you intended to mean something different by the phrase in the title. But anyway, it was unique in terms of your style (chronologically till this poem). More spontaneity and pace(similar to ‘that is when my heart cries’). Nice.
