Nobody’s No. 1

But still some thoughts are hidden
Some are locked away
You would only be told
After one has gone away

I know how it feels
To be a nobody’s no. 1

You can be special
You would be cared for
You would be in their happiness and sorrow
And they in yours
But still some thoughts are hidden
Some are locked away
You would only be told
After one has gone away

It doesn’t hurt always
It wouldn’t pain
You have sweet memories to cherish
And friends to share
You can get through most of the days
But at times at night
You do shed a tear or two
And often wonder
why is it the same story through and through
Why does this phrase
Always ends up coming true

Why do you end up being
A nobody’s no. 1 and everybody’s fool

You know you can wait
And wait for a happy ending to stay
But with each new face
Comes new hope but the same game
New stories but same old endings
You can relate to a movie
But not with lead character’s story
You wait , But there is no ending
Written keeping you in their place
Because no matter how hard you try
It goes back to the phrase

And you end up once again as
A nobody’s no 1 and always afraid

I simply loved the phrase, and wanted to write a poem on it. So here it was… From a point of view of nobody’s number one…

    1. Thank you for taking an interest in the poems. I was dwelling on the stories I have read, the people I have met, their thoughts and worries, and then my reactions on the same.. The phrase came to me then, rest was just letting the words take over to give rise to this.
